WEST HARTFORD- Friendships are tough as nails as Playhouse on Park presents Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling. From the big screens to the stage, opening night is Friday, January 12th at 8pm, with a complimentary wine and cheese reception from 7pm to 8pm.

This play takes audiences through the lives of six women frequenting Truvy’s Beauty Salon in Chiquapin Parish, Louisiana. Though they gossip and squabble, the sisterhood among the women carries the show through trials of love and loss. Steel Magnolias is as hopeful as it is tragic, yet always maintains its heart.

Steel Magnolias runs through January 28th, with previews January 10th and 11th. Preview seats are $17.50. This show offers a specially priced matinee on Tuesday, January 23rd at 2pm. All seats for this performance are only $22.50 per person, reserved seating. There is also a talk back with the cast after Sunday matinees.
