WEST HARTFORD- Take an intimate dive into history as Playhouse on Park presents Intimate Apparel by Lynn Nottage. Opening night is Friday, February 16th at 8 pm, with a complimentary wine and cheese reception from 7pm to 8pm.

Set in 1905 Manhattan, Intimate Apparel centers on the life of Esther, an African American seamstress. Esther makes a living sewing lingerie for elite white women, but dreams of getting married and starting a salon to make African American women feel like royalty. When she starts to receive letters from a distant stranger, she jumps at the chance to fall in love. However, not everything is as it seems. Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Lynn Nottage, tells a heartfelt story of love, intimacy, and courage in this moving drama.

Intimate Apparel runs through March 4th, with previews February 14th and 15th. Preview seats are $17.50. This show offers a specifically priced matinee on Tuesday, January 23rd at 2pm. All seats for this performance are only $22.50 per person, reserved seating. There is also a talk back with the cast on Sunday matinees.
