Creative Kids (Grade K - 2)

  • The 224 EcoSpace 224 Farmington Avenue Hartford, CT, 06105 United States (map)

Welcome to the basics of theatre! Children will be introduced to theatre through creative play. Exercises and games will focus on acting, storytelling, puppetry, music, and movement. A story will often be incorporated. In fact, most of the time the kiddos become the playwrights themselves! By the end of the class, students will be able to use their bodies and voices to start to create characters. While the emphasis of the class will focus on developing skills and not on a final performance, family and friends are invited to the last class to see students present a short script/ share day. Each session will have a theme. Themes will be announced during the first day of class! This class will cover: characters, emotions, tableau, props, setting, stage directions, pantomime, musicals, and themes.
