A meeting of The Park Rd Association was held at Playhouse on Park on April 17, 2025

Town Reports:
Economic Development – Kristen Gorski / Lauren Siegel
· 425 Prospect Ave apartment block recently sold; Town Homes on Prospect – 15 units approved 8 years ago, but units are beginning to go up for sale; 74 Park Road, Cieria Market – signs are up, market, convenience store and butcher shop, Brazilian focus, open in next 2-3 months; Chocodiva expected to open by end of April; Bape restaurant is open, lounge presently closed and awaiting permitting, applying for an outdoor permitting process; New manager at One Park Apartments: Carolyn Gonzalez.
Town Manager - Rick Ledwith
· Update on Oakwood accident in November, arrest of a second driver occurred earlier this week; case now solved. Rapid flashing crosswalk beacon and intersection floodlights are now active in the Park/Oakwood intersection; brighter street lighting installed. Speed and redlight camera programs approved in Town, 15 speed cameras will be installed following plan and public info sessions.
· Discussion on litter and general disrepair, perceived differences between Town Center and Park Road. Park Road has several successful committees, including: “Don’t Waste a Walk” campaign and planting committee; strong desire to restart beautification committee and need volunteers.
· Request to reevaluate the public trash can locations on Park Road – Kristen to take to Public Works. Trash gets weighed, and bins that are not widely used are removed. (Residents and businesses can contact Public Works if cans are full, signs are missing, etc.)
· ACTION: Tracy/John/Kristen will schedule Spring Walk Through with Town for May.
· ACTION: Meghan to get info on Glastonbury Partners in Planting
· ACTION: Kristin to look into Knox planting program
Chamber of Commerce – Chris Conway
Business after hours for Celebrate West Hartford kick off. Earth Day Events: Upcycle & Unwind social - $5 donation per bag of excess goods/office supplies at Chamber office; Walking Networking. PM Connections: Mental Health in the Workplace. Chamber Health & Wellness Fair – 12-3pm Blue Back Square. 4 Ribbon Cuttings scheduled around town.
